Maps Page

The Maps Page displays geo referenced color contour images representing monthly properties derived for both historical conditions and management scenarios. Information is selected for display through the controls in the left side panel. Individual images are identified by selecting a Scenario, Monthly Property, Year Type, and Month as well as whether the property Value should be displayed or the Difference from the Base Scenario should be displayed. If image data is not available for a particular selection, the map will be gray and "DNE" (does not exist) is noted in the map title. Multiple images can be displayed in an array by identifying selection attributes as row or column types.

Background Map Display Option

Depending on the model results, you may want to see the background map displayed in “Day” mode, “Night” mode, or “None” for a friendlier visualization.

Selecting Information for Display

Predefined View

Predefined View gives the option to choose data selections set up by the modeling team representing some of the key outcomes of the analysis. Once a Predefined View has been selected, you may modify the selection using the normal controls as described below.   If you have suggestions for additional Predefined Views, please contact the modeling team.

Selection Controls

Select dropdown menu

Dropdown menu can be used to change values selected for the Selection Attribute. Only one value can be selected for the attribute unless “Row” or “Column” is selected as the Layout configuration.

Slider

Sliders can be used as another way to change values for the Selection Attribute. The slider can be dragged to observe model results throughout the selections. For example, the slider can be dragged to see the progression of the model results throughout the months under the “Month” Selection Attribute.

Layout

When “Row” or “Column” is selected, multiple selection is enabled and the corresponding selections are displayed in its respective configuration. For example, the model results for the month of May and June can be shown side-by-side by selecting “Column” under “Month” and checking “May” and “June” under its Select Dropdown Menu. Similarly, the model results for Dry, Below Normal and Wet year types can be shown in a row fashion by selecting “Row” under “Year Type” and checking “Dry”, “Below Normal”, and “Wet” under its Select Dropdown Menu.

Maps

Maps display the model results according to the Selection Attributes. They can be dragged or zoomed to pan. Map titles are displayed in a text field at the top of the map to identify which model result is displayed, i.e., “Difference” maps differentiate from “Value” maps when the map title denotes “Difference”. Selections that do not have a model result is denoted by “DNE” (Does Not Exist) in the map title.
